📜 Your Rights Under Oregon Law

Under Oregon’s Constitution and Crime Victims’ Rights Statutes, victims have the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity and respect
  • Be notified of legal proceedings and offender status
  • Be present and heard at sentencing and parole hearings
  • Request restitution and confer with prosecutors
  • Be protected from harassment or intimidation

💰 Victim Compensation in Oregon

The Oregon Crime Victims’ Compensation Program reimburses survivors for crime-related expenses.

Eligible expenses include:

  • Medical, counseling, and dental care
  • Funeral and burial costs
  • Relocation and home security
  • Lost wages and dependent support

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Report the crime within 72 hours (or with good cause)
  • Apply within 1 year (extensions possible)
  • Cooperate with law enforcement and prosecution
