The Novel Advocate is a platform dedicated to advocacy, awareness, and the responsible sharing of survivor stories. Founded and managed by Cynthia Smith, this space was created to amplify voices that have been silenced and to expose abuses of power in healthcare, legal, and interpersonal systems.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It
We do not collect personal information unless you voluntarily submit it through our contact form or choose to engage with us via comments or email. Any personal data submitted will be reviewed in accordance with our advocacy goals and will not be published or shared without explicit permission.
Analytics & Visitor Tracking
This site uses tools such as Matomo and Clicky to monitor engagement and suspicious activity. These tools may collect IP addresses, geolocation, and device details. This is done for legal and documentation purposes to protect our platform and contributors from retaliation or manipulation.

Story Submissions

Redistribution, reproduction, screen capturing, or downloading of any content — including but not limited to images, text, or documents — is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.
Any unauthorized use, especially for malicious purposes such as defamation, retaliation, or false legal accusations, will be considered harassment and may be pursued through civil or criminal legal channels.
2. Notice Regarding Surveillance and Legal Harassment
The Novel Advocate monitors traffic activity and logs unauthorized or suspicious access. Attempts to monitor, surveil, or download content with the intent to fabricate legal claims or defame the owner will be documented and addressed accordingly.
These actions constitute malicious abuse of process and retaliatory harassment, and may result in formal counterclaims, subpoenas, or other legal remedies.

This site exists for the purposes of public interest, legal advocacy, education, and survivor empowerment. Many of the posts reflect real events, observations, or experiences related to systemic failures, provider misconduct, and survivor narratives.
Names may be changed to protect identities. All content is designed to uphold civil rights, encourage reform, and protect others from harm.
